OAG is a true astronomical centre consisting of a historic Astronomical Observatory, built in the early 1980s and managed by the Amateur Astronomers' Section (1961), the Università Popolare Sestrese (1907), and a new Planetarium classroom, built between November 2021 and May 2022. OAG is also a non-profit association of enthusiastic volunteers based on research and dissemination of astronomical subjects.
